Harry Reid gave Nevada Athletic Commission the middle finger

When all said and done, Harry Reid voted NO against the people who supposedly paid him off with several free $1400 ringside seats. On May 9, 2005 the Professional Boxing Amendment of 2005 passed in the Senate unanimously.

Basically, Harry Reid gave Nevada Athletic Commission the middle finger. It makes you wonder who provided AP’s Solomon (broke the story) with key ticket details, huh?

Today, Harry Reid said... "I would be criticized if I didn't go. It's just like going to an Ohio State football game, an Arizona State football game - in Nevada, boxing is it. I have an obligation to make sure boxing is conducted properly not only in Nevada but around the country."

So, in today’s economy when gas is $3.39 per gallon, I applaud Harry Reid for not coming out the pocket $1400 a pop to do the work Nevadan's hired him to do.

Dina Titus asking Jim Gibbons to explain his HR 5386 YES vote

I was driving into work this morning from Fernley to Reno and saw a HUGE Dina Titus billboard up on I-80 just past the Tracy Clark power plant. I'll try taking a picture of it tomorrow.

Also... axcessnews.com has a article about Dina Titus asking Jim Gibbons to explain his HR 5386 YES vote for "retaining $7 billion in windfall incentives to oil and gas companies late last week".

Dina Titus - "Is Jim Gibbons in Washington to do something about high gasoline prices that are eating up family budgets, or is he in Washington to feed enormous oil company profits?"

John Ensign should take a lesson from Senator Graham

Saturday at the Republican state party convention, John Ensign used his time to criticize Democrats for opposing the senseless war in Iraq. He said Democrats leaders like Nancy Pelosi and Ted Kennedy who called evidence of WMD in Iraq "lies" are hurting our military and have "emboldened" the enemy.

I wonder if John Ensign felt the same way when President Bush told the insurgents and terrorists in Iraq to "Bring them on"? Or what about living with only a few hours of electricity per day in 110 degree Iraq heat? Wouldn't that embolden the enemy, Senator Ensign?

Senator Ensign is damn near in lock-step with President Bush 100% of the time. He "voted in sync" with President Bush 100% of the time in 2004, 98% of the time in 2003, 97% of the time in 2002 and 96% of the time in 2001. On average, Senator Ensign is in lock-step with President Bush 97.75% of the time.

Sunday on Meet The Press, Conservative Republican Senator Lindsey Graham said: "We’re in charge of the House, we’re in charge of the Senate, we’re in charge of the White House, we got nobody else to blame".

I think John Ensign should take a lesson from Senator Graham. No matter how you do the math the Democrats are not the problem. The problem is President Bush and Republicans like Rick Santorum, John Kyl, Conrad Burns and John Ensign who march lock-step with President Bush almost 100% of the time.

John Murtha's plan for Iraq will work, Hillary Clinton's won't.

Today CNN reported that the US is sending enforcements to the Iraqi city of Ramadi because of "raging" battles between insurgents and Marines.

For months John Murtha has been calling for an "immediate redeployment of U.S. troops consistent with the safety of U.S. forces". He's also calling to create an "over- the- horizon presence of Marines" that would be able to quickly react to terrorist threats within Iraq. The current situation in Ramadi just might be the model for the plan Murtha has been talking about all along. I hope Hillary Clinton and other leaders in the Democratic party hop on board with Murtha soon before the republicans do.

Read the entire Murtha "War in Iraq" plan [here].

Jim Gibbons and Jon Porter voted YES on HR4437

When the house debated and voted on HR4437, Nevada Congressmen Jim Gibbons and Jon Porter voted to appease the "build a fence and deport all illegals" Rable Rousers. Will Nevada Latinos rise up and flock to the Tessa Hafen ticket in CD3? Will Nevada Latinos ruin Jim Gibbons chance at becoming Governor of Nevada?

John Ensign claims National Guard on border was his idea

Last night President Bush proposed putting 6,000 National Guard Troops on the border. John Ensign said "it was my idea" today on Nevada Newsmakers. He also pitched deporting illegals if they can't find work or break the law.

The success of Jon Porter opponent Tessa Hafen

The Hill reports that Harry Reid's goal is to rid of Rep. Jon Porter (R-Nev.) before Jon Porter gets a chance to rid of him. Also... The success of Jon Porter opponent Tessa Hafen and her ability to raise large amounts of money with the help of Harry Reid.

Kate Marshall Files

Kate Marshall officially filed for treasurer today and in my opinion she'll be one tough cookie to beat. Last weekend in Fernley I had the honor of meeting Kate. She's highly qualified for the job and she's absolutely a people person with an outstanding personality.

Congrats to Kate Marshall and you have 100% of my support.

Dawn Gibbons simply took a beating

Today in the RGJ Dawn Gibbons simply took a beating. It’s now apparent that Dawn Gibbons is no conservative by today’s neo-conservative standards.

Jack Carter mingles with residents of Fernley

Lyon County Democrats celebrate Cinco De Mayo with Fernley residents at the In-Town Park.

The family and I enjoyed Mexican food, carnival games and most of all each other. We also met and shook hands with Bob Unger (Lt. Governor candidate), Kate Marshall (Nevada State Treasurer candidate), John Emerson (running against Maurice Washington for District 2 senate) and many others.

When I first arrived, I was surprised to see Jack Carter and his wife Elizabeth mingling with the crowd. I immediately jumped out of my seat and made my way over to them. He immediately introduced himself and his wife and handed the kids "snazzy" orange Carter for Nevada stickers.

Jack and I joked around while Elizabeth and my wife laughed and giggled. It's absolutely amazing how down to earth they are and how easy they were to speak to.

Now only if I can get my hands on a Jack Carter for Senate yard sign and bumper sticker....
